I recently moved to the Charlotte area and had been exploring different co-working options when I stumbled upon Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee. What a gem! From the moment I walked in, the friendly staff made me feel right at home, and they already know my go-to drink (impressive!). The atmosphere here is perfect for getting work done—there’s a big open area where I can easily find a cozy spot to set up for the day. I also love their comfy couches for a quick break, and if I need to recharge, there’s even a pool table for a little friendly competition. Parking can be a bit of a challenge at times, but the overall experience more than makes up for it. I’m so glad to have found this place and can’t recommend it enough for anyone looking for a relaxed, welcoming environment with great coffee and even better service! ~ Thomas E
I live above the coffee shop and don't go down there often. I decided to tonight to get some food before heading home for the holidays. I recently had to go gluten and dairy free, so it's been a struggle to cook and find places to eat. I heard LTH had gluten-free paninis and was happy to find out that was true and order one. The barista was so accommodating and helpful and even made me aware about the smaller size of the bread, etc. :) Although I've had a couple experiences here that weren't great bc of long wait times or a rude experience, and although I never write reviews, this just made my night after a long day. I'm not sure what her name was, but you're my fav! <3 Also, food is good and coffee is delicious :) ~ Klaire V
Haven't had a chance to visit this location, but I used to frequent the 1776 Peach Tree Street location and Atlantic Station locations when I lived in Atlanta. I am a big time coffee drinker and spend most days working from coffee shops. If this is anything like the quality of the Atlanta locations, this a welcome addition to Charlotte's specialty (third-wave) coffee scene and provides another coffee shop of similar quality to Under Current and Not Just Coffee. Land of Thousand Hills specializes exclusively in Rawandaan Coffee and has close partnership with specific farms. Their menu is pretty diverse offering traditional pour overs, drip coffee, lattes along with more Starbucks-esque offerings. ~ aus
The new owners have added amazing things to the menu and have really brought in a wonderful atmosphere in which to relax and also get work done if that’s what you come in for. They have an amazing outdoor area that the whole cafe opens up into, couches, patios, house music, and etc. to add to the warm ambience. The food and drinks are also top notch to match the quality of the establishment. I highly suggest the honey drizzled bacon Breakfast Sandwhich and an iced Periwinkle Latte! Came in to shoot for Rogue Sea Media and I found myself staying all afternoon to finish editing at a very enjoyable cafe! Heard events, musicians, cocktails, and the taps for their vast collection of local breweries will be back for the Summer! ~ Andrew H
Charlotte really does have some hidden gems!!! Found 1000 Hills Coffee because I was searching for a kronut (flaky, buttery, goodness made by Sugarmann). The atmosphere is definitely on point; natural lighting to die for with added accent lights. And even with the high ceiling (which I love) the background chatter is minimal, allowing for the music and the eloquent sounds of barista magic to shine through. Carlos is also a gem, fantastic customer service! I had a Caramanilla; one of their signature drinks, it was made perfectly. A well balance of coffee, milk, caramel and vanilla and not too sweet; which is perfect because I like to actually taste the coffee and not just a sugary hot drink. ~ Ebony M
we visited this morning using our stamped coffee passport! this was the first place i. the passport that we decided to go. the atmosphere was SOO cool, definitely one of the most unique coffee shops i’ve been to. i’m honestly not a huge huge fan of modern coffee shops, but this one still felt super cozy somehow. they have so many activities to do including knitting, board games, & even a pool table!! we got 2 iced lattes, one vanilla & one caramel. my only downside is that there was no difference in taste between the caramel & vanilla, but the lattes were both still super good. can’t wait to be back!! 🤍 ~ Jayda B
I recently visited this coffee shop while in Charlotte, North Carolina, and I was truly impressed. They are doing an outstanding job. The coffee is absolutely delicious—very smooth, not bitter at all, and unlike anything I’ve had before. I ordered the cardamom coffee, and it was exceptional—rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. Beyond the coffee, I really appreciate their focus on quality and health. They offer a great selection of healthy options, including protein shakes to go, overnight oats, and unique protein bars made without harmful chemicals. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into what they serve. ~ kelly f
GREAT atmosphere, coffee, and food. I came with a fairly large group (5 people), but the service was fast and accommodating. There is plenty of seating, although most of it is sofa/couches, so it may not be the ideal place to come to study or work. PERFECT hang-out or social meeting space, however. I personally got an iced latte (delightful, but might be a little weak if you are looking for a very strong brew), and the puff pastry 'poptart' (phenomenal, a very grown-up tasting treat). Parking was a little difficult (we ended up paying to park in the lot to the side), but definitely navigable. ~ Ashley H
I go to a lot of coffee cafes in Charlotte, and this one is a nice break from my usual spots. I really like the lowkey quiet atmosphere this one has. There are lots of places to sit and it’s comfortable with a few couches. The staff is really friendly as well and give great recommendations, Laurie recommend a drink and last time I was here I had “The Golden” with she recommended. It’s a warm turmeric drink. I guzzled and got another one. I recommend getting it with honey. Also the cheese Danish is 12/10. It’s my new favorite spot ~ Precious G
I had such a wonderful experience at this coffee shop! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for either getting some work done or just relaxing with friends. The barista was friendly, knowledgeable, and made excellent recommendations. My latte was smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced, and the pastry I ordered was fresh and delicious. Everything came out quickly, and I really appreciated the genuine customer service—it made the visit feel special. Definitely one of the best spots I’ve been to, and I’ll be coming back often! ~ Morgan
This was my first time at LTH and I could not have felt more at home. The atmosphere was so warm and comfortable, which you’d typically not expect in larger, open spaces. Not only is the coffee AMAZING, but Savannah, Joe, and Tommy, are all so kind! I love that the menu is kept simple to focus on perfecting the craftsmanship of classic coffee drinks, and the pastry + snack options are plenty, with really cool merch items available for purchase. Hands down, one of the best coffee shops I’ve ever been to! ~ Caitlyn R
Thousand Hills Coffee is a cozy gem offering exceptional service, superb coffee, and a chill vibe. Family owmed and staffed by friendly faces, every visit feels like coming home. Their expertly crafted coffee, from classic espressos to specialty blends, delights the senses with each sip. The inviting ambiance invites you to linger, making it the perfect spot to unwind or catch up with friends. Thousand Hills Coffee: where great coffee meets great service in a chill space ~ MOTSO V
What a cool place!! My wife and I went for an after dinner coffee and found they have coffee cocktails too. Even better! Friendly service, cool vibe, and really good drinks. In addition to the coffee cocktails, they have traditional coffee drinks, specialty coffee drinks, beer, and wine as well. They also have a nice selection of baked goods and snacks. Lots of casual activities around like pool, Jenga, tic tac toe, board and card games, etc. Definitely plan on going back. ~ Matt B
Wow! I cannot rate this high enough! Such a cool atmosphere and every barista I've come in contact with has been SO NICE! Everyone there is so welcoming. I really feel at ease when I come here with my laptop to do schoolwork. It's calm, it's relaxing, I can really concentrate. The coffee is great and so are the breakfast foods. I like the option of an actual mug OR a paper cup! Tyler and Carlos are amazing. Couldn't recommend this place more. 10/10 ~ Kaitlin L
Me and my family have been coming here for years and not once have we had a remotely bad experience. The new ownership is phenomenal. The drinks are ridiculously great and never dissapoint. The Rwandan Chill is my go-to and the breakfast meals are up there too. The ownership is so bright and goes above-and-beyond everytime to bring a smile to your face! If anyone wants a great coffee spot recommendation, Land of a Thousand Hills coffee is always at the top of my list! ~ Andres C
This is my go to coffee shop in CLT. Coming from, and being used to, the craft coffee culture in SoCal I was worried I wasn't going to be able to find comparable places in NC. Was I wrong! LTH coffee is delicious, the drinks are not too sweet (you can still taste the espresso!), and they've been getting more and more pastries in which is awesome! I'd say I come here 4 days out of the week, just can't get enough! (Plus that they have a sweet co-working space and beer/wine on tap!) ~ Josh C
I’ve been coming here since they opened in August of 2021 and I LOVE it. I’ve been recommending it to all of my friends as well. They have incredible coffee, cold brew, oat milk, vegan items, a brand new seasonal menu, 16 beers on tap, a fantastic cocktail program, kombucha, cider beers, desserts, games, TV’s, chill couches, private office space, literally could go on. It’s a great spot for meetings, interviews, hanging with friends and they have live music most Friday nights with food trucks. I can’t say enough great things about this place and they are always adapting and adding new items based on poling their guests and residents. I heard they will be carrying fresh produce soon which will be very convenient. I come down some nights for a bottle of wine, grab a cocktail before I catch the light rail, or play pool with friends. The nice part is they are open until 9pm most nights! I highly recommend coming to check out their coffee, food and environment - it’s a great location at the Scaleybark light rail station and currently have free garage and street parking! ~ Dallas B
It would like to say after talking with the new owners .I was made aware that the old .manager was nolonger employed with 1000 hills coffee and he also expressed his sincerest apology ,So ive decided to delete my previous review ,because I feel like him or his new staff does not deserve the backlash from a review .That was given before they took ownership of 1000 hills coffee.I look forward to stopping in and experiencing some great coffee ,served by a great freindly staff . ~ j G
First time trying and wow I’m so impressed!! I was in a rush leaving my apartment to catch a meeting, and completely forgot to put my wallet in my work bag. I parked in the parking garage, got to the coffee shop, and realized this at the counter. I felt so bad and offered to Venmo, but one of the workers here was so kind and said Merry Christmas, this one is on us! I will 100% be back. I got the Carmanilla iced latte and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend checking this place out! ~ Sidney K
Thousand Hills Coffee is my favorite coffee shop in Charlotte. It has great vibes, excellent coffee, and plenty of space to sit if you want to be productive. It also has a pool table and a large outdoor area. The staff is the friendliest you’ll find in any coffee shop in Charlotte. As a bonus, they have amazing bakery treats (the gluten-free chocolate chip brownie is the GOAT) as well as a great wine selection. If you're reading this and looking for a coffee shop in Charlotte, go to this one! ~ Maxim L
I love Thousand Hills Coffee and the ambiance they’ve created. The space is very open, spacious, and filled with greenery, which makes it feel calm and welcoming. It’s an easy place to get work done and enjoy some peace and quiet when you need to think. It’s a perfect “work from home, but not at home” spot. The staff is always friendly, and the drinks are consistently great. I always enjoy coming here. ~ Katie K
My new favorite coffee shop. It’s really beautiful and spacious inside and they also have awesome outside seating options too. There’s a spot for everyone whether you have a day full of zoom calls or you want a nice spot to hang out with the family. The drinks are yummy and there are food, snack, and juice options as well. I love how the founder of this chain supports Rwandan coffee bean farmers and their community. ~ Natalia W
This spot is one of my all time favorites for coffee in Charlotte! Their seasonal drink menus are creative and always delicious (especially their cold foam👌🏼) and the baristas always are kind and attentive making it a positive experience. Time to wait is hardly more than 5 minutes which makes for a perfect stop before work. May I add this is the BEST spot for cold brew as I’ve been all over charlotte to try different ones! ~ Allison D
Visited thousand hills yesterday (Sunday July 13) at around 11am for the 1st ever. When we walked in, there was an event going on with a full on DJ & a photographer. I was surprised but it was a nice surprise. Found out that this type of event happens twice a month. Line was long but moving quickly. I got an iced vanilla latte with cold foam & it was SO good. I would recommend & I’ll be back again! ~ Nisha C
